Continuing Education

New Mexico Crisis Counseling offers NBCC-certified continuing education credits for mental health professionals. Our programs can be delivered online or in-person, and are designed to enhance your skills and knowledge in crisis intervention, suicide prevention, liability reduction, and trauma-informed care. Trainings include:

  • Crisis Intervention & Suicide Prevention: Learn evidence-based strategies for assessing and managing risk, providing immediate support, and connecting individuals to ongoing care.
  • Trauma-Informed Care: Understand the impact of trauma on individuals and communities and develop skills to create safe and supportive environments.
  • Advanced Crisis Intervention Techniques: Explore advanced techniques for managing complex crises, including dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) and cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT).
  • Documentation & Liability Reduction: Learn best practices for accurate and thorough documentation, risk management strategies, and ethical considerations in clinical practice.
  • Supervising Therapists Working with Suicidal Clients: Learn how to provide effective supervision and support to therapists working with suicidal clients, including risk assessment, case consultation, and clinical supervision.
